ReportWhat it gives you
Best Selling ItemsAn item that sells a lot and returns a lot is a big problem worth fixing now
Product ReviewsShoppers usually wrote the reason in a review
Most Purchase ReturnsIf you also send that item back to your supplier, the fault is certainly theirs

The intersection of this report and your product reviews is the fastest route to the cause.

A return is a real cost

Every return costs you:

  • Shipping both ways.
  • Time in handling and restocking.
  • Goods that may come back unsellable.
  • A customer's confidence.

Reducing your return rate raises profit without raising sales.

It counts submitted documents only

The figures come from submitted return invoices. Drafts are excluded.

A routine

Open it monthly. And if an item appears on the list for the first time, read its store reviews before you order more of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What return rate counts as high?

There is no fixed number — it varies by category. Clothing sold online returns far more than spare parts. What matters is comparing your own items: the one returning far more than your average is the one with a problem.

How do I find out why something is returned?

The report tells you what comes back, not why. Read it alongside your product reviews — shoppers usually write the reason there.

Where do the figures come from?

Submitted return invoices. Draft returns are excluded, as with everything else in the reports.
