Brands: recording manufacturers
Brand is a required field on every item. If you do not sell branded goods, create one general brand and move on.
What are brands?
A brand is the manufacturer or marque behind an item. Every item in Pashkateb must have one.
Where to find it
Inventory → Brands, or /dashboard/brands.
Permissions: brand:view to see it, brand:add to create, brand:edit to change.

If you do not sell branded goods
The field is required on the item form, so if brands are irrelevant to your business, create one called General and use it on every item. Simple, and it will not get in your way.
What it is actually useful for
Brands help with:
- Filtering — quickly see every item from a particular marque.
- Organisation — when different suppliers provide the same kind of goods.
- Integrations — products pulled from an external store are attached to brands the system creates automatically.
Before you add items
Like item groups, you need at least one brand before you can save your first item.
Frequently Asked Questions
I do not sell branded goods — what should I do?
Create a single general brand called something like General and use it for all your items. The field is required on the item form, so at least one has to exist.
Does the brand show to shoppers in the store?
The brand is mainly internal data. What appears in the store is the product name, description and category. The brand helps you organise and filter internally.
Can I add a brand while creating an item?
No. The brand has to exist on the Brands screen first. Pashkateb forms select from existing records rather than creating them.
Do integrations create brands on their own?
Yes. When you pull products from Shopify or similar, the system creates any missing brands automatically and marks them as coming from an integration. You can rename them afterwards.
