Stock Adjustment report
A review of every stock correction. Large or repeated differences point to an operational problem.
What is the Stock Adjustment report?
It lists every stock adjustment with its lines: the item, quantity before and after, the difference, the valuation rate and the amount.
Where to find it
Reports → Inventory Reports → Stock Adjustment, or /dashboard/reports/stock-adjustment.
Permissions: reports:stock_adjustment or stock_adjustment:view.
The filters
| Filter | Use |
|---|---|
| Adjustment number | Finding a particular adjustment |
| Adjustment status | Adjusted / not adjusted |
| From date / to date | A particular period |
How to read it
Having adjustments is not the issue — their size and frequency is.
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Few adjustments with small differences | Normal — every warehouse has some |
| Large recurring differences | An operational problem |
| The same item adjusted every month | Goods leaving without an invoice, or quantities typed wrong |
| Many positive differences | Purchase invoices not being submitted |
| Many negative differences | Selling without invoicing, or unrecorded damage |
Adjustments affect your accounts
Every adjustment posts a journal entry for the net of its line amounts.
So a large negative adjustment also reduces the value of your stock in the books. Read the amounts, not only the quantities.
Tip
Open it after every stocktake. If the differences are large, the cause is not the count — it is that data was not being recorded as you went, all month.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is adjustment status?
A filter distinguishing adjusted from not adjusted. Use it to review what has actually been applied.
My differences are large — is that normal?
Not if it repeats. Large recurring differences mean your data is not being recorded as you go — unsubmitted invoices, goods leaving without an invoice, or quantities typed wrong.
Do adjustments affect my accounts?
Yes. Each adjustment posts a journal entry for the net of its line amounts. So the amounts matter, not only the quantities.
